It looks like we are back to the same pattern we've dealt with for much of the summer...extreme heat and little to no rain! Stay safe in the heat the best you can by drinking lots of water, avoiding strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day and finding a cooling center if you have issues with your AC. Expect record heat Thursday for Houston with high temperatures near 105 and heat index values 110+. Heat Advisory is in effect for the Houston area until 10 PM tonight. But that gets upgraded to an excessive heat warning 10 AM - 10 PM Thursday. 100-degree heat should stick around through early next week with temperatures a bit less hot and better rain chances by Tuesday and Wednesday.
