Tropical Weather Forecast - August 4, 2023
All is quiet in the Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean Sea & Atlantic for now with no tropical cyclone formation expected over the next few days. A few disturbances in the eastern Atlantic are battling Saharan dust and will likely not get stronger. Eastern Pacific is more active with a high chance for a tropical wave off the SW Mexican coast to develop into a tropical depression or storm over the next few days. We also still have Hurricane Dora in the east-central Pacific which has gotten a little weaker. The good news is that it should pass south of the Hawaiian Islands early next week.
