Tropical Weather Forecast - July 13, 2023
Waters in the Gulf, Caribbean & Atlantic are unusually warm which could be a big problem as we get closer to the most active part of hurricane season. That would be August and September. Right now Saharan dust is hindering major tropical development in the Atlantic Basin but that is expected to change over the coming weeks. There is one system in the central Atlantic 900 miles east of Bermuda that could become TD #5 or Tropical Storm Don over the next few days. But it is expected to stay away from the US as it tracks north. In the eastern Pacific, Calvin has become the third hurricane of the eastern Pacific season and could get close to Hawaii by the middle of next week bringing higher waves and heavy rain.
