Houston weather: Scattered showers Thursday, then late evening strong storms

An outbreak of severe storms and tornadoes is expected to our north and west today with a brief chance for strong storms locally tonight. Expect a windy, muggy day around Houston with off and on light rain. Between around 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. tonight, we'll have a chance for strong to severe storms with the highest risk north. The great news is that cooler, much drier air will move in for Friday through Sunday, so that should make for a nearly perfect weekend for the rodeo, just don't forget sunscreen or a cowboy hat, because the sunshine will be strong.
