Yasir Masood?s directorial film, Istikhara, New York, documents the immigrant experience through the lens of an American Muslim aspiring to be an actor while facing troubles as a food courier to make ends meet. And during the 38th Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, the Houston native received the Emerging Filmmaker Award.
