Controversial I-45 expansion project to move forward after getting federal clearance

A big development in the controversial multi-billion-dollar expansion of I-45 near downtown Houston. Part of the project which would displace homes and businesses in the Fifth Ward, just east of downtown, has received federal clearance to proceed.
