We have great news in your forecast with several days of sunshine, pleasant mornings and very nice days. A front will move through late Wednesday, so there's a slight chance for rain that will be followed by cooler, drier breezes. If you've been craving cold air to get you in the holiday spirit, a stronger cold front is possible by late next week - temps could drop into the 40s and chilly and breezy days, too. Moisture creeps back in Saturday night and could lead to some fog or showers early on Sunday morning. A cold front has stalled east of Houston this morning. Folks in Houston and cities to the north are waking up to the low-60s and will see mostly dry skies today. FOX 26 Weather Forecast

Beach Hazards statement remains in place along the coast until Sunday morning with the risk for elevated tide levels, more wave action, and a higher risk for rip currents. These are the only impacts we should feel from Hurricane Rafael which is moving west in the central Gulf of Mexico. Cold front will move through Houston by Saturday morning which will keep Rafael away from our area. Rafael should weaken to a tropical storm this weekend and then track into the SW Gulf of Mexico early next week as it falls apart. Cold front will bring an increased risk for showers and storms tonight through Saturday morning. A few storms could be strong but widespread severe weather is not likely. Best risk for winds near 50 mph and hail would be NW around Brenham, College Station & Huntsville. Rain chances will decrease Saturday afternoon and the majority of Sunday should be dry. Another front will bring some showers Wednesday followed by a nice drop in temperatures late next week.
