Tropical Storm Oscar is bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the Bahamas today as it makes its way northeast into the Atlantic. This system will not be impacting the U.S.

Weather for early voting and any other errands you may have planned should continue to be fairly quiet. Temperatures are heating up as we move farther away from the taste of fall weather we enjoyed last week with Houston dipping to the 40s! Look for highs near 90 the rest of this week with only a very slim 10% rain chance. Houston has moved back to moderate drought and this will likely get worse with no significant rain in sight. FOX 26 Houston weather: Oct. 21 morning forecast
Welcome to a beautiful Monday. After an awesome weekend, the trend will continue today with pleasant humidity levels, sunshine and highs in the mid 80s. For the rest of the week, humidity and temperatures should gradually increase with upper 80s and even a few low 90s possible. We need some rain. Most locations have not received rain this month and many only had sparse rainfall in September, so drought conditions are spreading and the outlook for rain over the next 7 days looks dry. In the tropics, it was a busy weekend with Tropical Storm Nadine making landfall in Belize and a quickly forming Hurricane Oscar impacting the Southern Bahamas and Cuba. No systems are a threat to Texas.
FOX 26 Houston weather: Oct. 20 evening forecast
More pleasant October days expected this week as Southeast Texas experiences no weather systems moving into the region. That quiet pattern is certainly nice but it also means no rain, and areas around Houston are starting to show that lack of rain. Humidity and temperatures will slowly increase during the week with 90s expected for the afternoon highs at the end of the week.

FOX 26 Weather: Oct. 18 late morning forecast
Fall feeling weather will stay with us for another day or two, but the overall trend will be toward gradually warmer and more humid air over the next several days. For example, today's average high temperature is 82 degrees and we will likely remain just below that this afternoon. We are back in a moderate drought and very little rain is on the way for the next week or two. Other than an occasional small shower, nothing significant is expected, so area vegetation and soil will get even crunchier.

FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
Wow! Our temperatures this morning were the coolest since early April and we have some beautiful weather ahead today. Expect lots of sunshine, very dry air and lighter winds than yesterday. Speaking of yesterday, it was the first time in more than a month that the temperature was below average. One issue to be aware of - with very little rain over the last few weeks, we are slipping back into a drought and many local counties have outdoor burn bans in effect. Grass or brush fires are possible, so let's do everything to avoid that. Over the next 5-7 days, we'll feel conditions gradually get more humid and highs could return to near 90 by next week. Allergy levels, especially ragweed, should remain high for the foreseeable future.

Wow! After a couple of record shattering, very hot days, a cold front has arrived. Look for a windy, very dry day with afternoon temperatures at least 20 degrees cooler then yesterday. Clear skies and drier air should bring us the coolest weather in more than six months tonight area wide - bona fide brisk! The rest of the week is looking terrific, but you should notice a bit more humidity and warmer air by early next week. One issue to be aware of is that we are dry - very dry, and with wind and low humidity, there is a fire risk today. Most local counties are under declared burn bans, so avoid anything that could set dry grass or brush on fire. There are a couple of possible developments in the tropics, but neither is a concern for our area at this point. Enjoy the chilly air!
FOX 26 Houston Weather Forecast
A change is finally coming! Thanks to a cold front tonight, we are back to fall weather Wednesday and Thursday! We set another record high in Houston(Bush) today soaring to 98 degrees! Previous record was 92 in 2019. That should be an end to the record heat for awhile as temperatures drop about 20 degrees Wednesday! Look for high temperatures in the 70s tomorrow with overnight lows in 40s and 50s Wednesday night. As southerly flow returns this weekend, moisture increases a bit although rain chances will only be at 10%.
