Houston rodeo forecast for Friday

Storms are moving out but we hang onto a blanket of light-moderate rain through midday. This front drove in chilly air and cloudy skies that will linger through early next week. Overnight Sunday into Monday some inland locations may dip into the 30s, but should stay above freezing. Muggy, warm air returns by middle of next week, with our next front slated to boost rain chances late Thursday/early Friday.

Each year, fans get to see current and future world champions give it all the have at NRG stadium. Part of the excitement of seeing this event in person is hearing the announcers call all the action that is taking place on the dirt. After 22 straight days of above average temperatures, the trend was broken yesterday and the cooler weather will continue today. Tomorrow, after a cool morning, a south breeze will kick in and meet up with a cold front late on Thursday. Watch for a round of rain with some areas getting more than 2" from late Thursday through Friday (St. Patrick's Day). The upcoming weekend looks chilly!
