Run/walk event honors late patriot & former NFL player Pat Tillman
Tillman Honor Run
HOUSTON (FOX 26) — The Houston chapter of the Arizona State University Alumni Association is hosting the Tillman Honor Runs at Memorial Park on Saturday, April 27. The fundraising event benefits the Tillman Scholars program and commemorates the legacy of former NFL player and ASU alum Pat Tillman, who was killed in a friendly-fire incident in Afghanistan in April 2004 as part of the U.S. Army 75th Ranger Regiment.
Inspired by the events of 9/11, Tillman walked away from his multi-million dollar contract with the Arizona Cardinals in 2002 and enilisted into the Army.
