NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Dylan McIlrath.
General manager Jeff Gorton announced the signing on Wednesday.
McIlrath had six goals and 11 assists in 73 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL) last season. He established AHL career-highs in games played and shots on goal (78), and tied career-highs in goals, assists, points, game-winning goals (two) and penalty minutes (165).
McIlrath skated in one game with the Rangers last season.
Prior to turning pro, McIlrath played four seasons with the Moose Jaw Warriors (WHL). The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was selected by the Rangers in the first round of the 2010 draft. He has played in 182 games with Hartford over the last five seasons.
