HOUSTON - Authorities are investigating after a woman was shot and killed outside of a bank in southeast Houston.
We're told a Houston Police Department officer working an extra job heard a single gunshot in the area of 2900 Woodridge Drive.
When the officer went to investigate, he found a female shot in the head in the parking lot of the Chase bank.
Police said the officer saw a male running from the scene and attempted to chase the man. However, he was unable to catch him.

The officer attempted to render aid to the woman, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Detectives are currently investigating to determine a motive.
