Volkswagen bringing back iconic 'hippie' Microbus -- now electric

Here’s a throwback making a comeback with some modern twists. Volkswagen's iconic 'hippie bus' is back, and now it’s electric.

Volkswagen confirmed over the weekend that the I.D. Buzz electric microbus is going into production.

The vehicle will have seating for up to eight people and will be available starting in 2022.

The Buzz is slated for up to 300 miles of range per charge, with the capability to power up to about 80 percent of its energy capacity in 30 minutes using VW’s fast-charging system.
