A heads up to moms everywhere – the secret is out about your hidden stash of snacks.

A new poll finds that about two-thirds of American mothers have a secret stash of snacks in the home. According to the poll, those moms aren't hiding the goodies to keep everyone healthy. They're doing it to avoid sharing with the rest of the family.

The results are part of a wider study, of around 2,000 women about their eating habits. Nearly 75 percent said they often have a quick snack in secret, and seven out of 10 of those women feel guilty about it. More than half of the 2,000 women say they did some “secret snacking” while on a diet.

The top snack for women is chips.

The poll was conducted by Crispy Green, a freeze-dried fruit manufacturer.
