Two teens charged with murder in parking garage shooting
HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Two teens have been arrested and charged in the deadly shooting of a man inside a Memorial apartment complex parking garage on April 30.
Jace Weeks, 19, and Devyn Durham, 19, are both charged with murder in the shooting death of Sam Kyle James, 31.
HPD investigators say James was shot inside an apartment complex parking garage in the 600 block of Dairy Ashford around 11:55 p.m. on Monday, April 30. Houston police responded to the call at Domain West Apartments at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning and discovered the man's body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say James' girlfriend told investigators that James was with her at the apartment complex and told her he was meeting someone in the parking garage. Investigators haven’t released a motive for the shooting. Residents say they’ve felt safe with security patrols and a gated garage.
Deputies say Weeks turned himself in to the Harris County Sheriff's Office on Monday, and Durham was arrested by Angelina County Sheriff's Deputies following a pursuit in which shots were fired.
