Train hits bus in New Jersey
NEW JERSEY (FOX5NY) - An NJ Transit bus was hit by an NJ Transit train in Garfield, New Jersey on Monday afternoon.
It happened shortly before 5 p.m. at Midland Ave. and President Street near the Plauderville Station on the Bergen County Line. There was significant damage to the front end of the bus after the incident.
It was unclear exactly what caused the accident. There was one injury reported among the people on the bus. The victim was seen moving as they were taken away on a stretcher.
There were 100 passengers on the train and 15 on the bus. Train service was suspended in that area.
The bus was operated by Community Coach under a contract with NJ Transit.
