Traffic stop takes dangerous turn in Williamson County

Dash cam video shared on Wednesday shows a Williamson County deputy hanging onto a car as the driver, who officials say was highly intoxicated, speeds away. Somehow, the deputy was uninjured. 

The incident began with a simple traffic stop after a Williamson County deputy noticed a car sitting at a light through several cycles. 

Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody said the driver nearly killed one of his deputies and wrote on Twitter "WilCo Sheriffs deputies showed great restraint when deadly force could've been used..."

The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and cough syrup. Chody said the deputy was not seriously hurt.
