HOUSTON, TX - On Friday, federal officials announced that they are investigating reports of Al-Quaeda attacks on day before U.S. election. There are reports of three states considered potential targets for the planned Monday attacks— New York, Texas and Virginia — for the planned Monday attacks. FBI's Houston Field Office has just released this statement about reports of possible attacks:
Even though FBI and authorities are now saying the threats are not credible, another threat came through from the Islamic State calling for the slaughter of American voters on Election day over the weekend. The threat appeared in an essay, and it demands that Muslims not participate in the Democratic process.
The FBI and Department of Homeland Security issued statements saying that they will remain vigilant to defend against attacks in the United States, and Governor Abbott urges Texans to go about their daily lives.
