What they're saying:
"We attribute the shortage to COVID," said Anya Thibodeaux, Recruiter for Arcadian Ambulance Service. "That's when people started moving out of the market, getting out of health care in general."
"We're looking for everyone. If you're interested in the medical field, it's an entry way in," Thibodeaux said. "You have to be somewhat physically fit to do the job. You're going to be moving and lifting patients on a stretcher, getting them in and out of an ambulance, in and out of their homes. It's fulfilling work. You get to help people on their worst days."
What you can do:
If you're interested in applying, you must have a high school diploma or GED. EMT classes begin on March 17.
