Texas AMBER Alert: Missing North Texas teen found safe in Austin

A statewide AMBER Alert has been discontinued for a missing North Texas teenager last seen in Princeton, Texas.

The Princeton Police Department says 13-year-old Madison Carroll was found safe Saturday night in Austin by the Austin Police Department.

Madison had been seen at 2:40 a.m. August 31 in the 1000 block of Princeton Heights in Princeton, which is in Collin County.

The AMBER Alert initially labeled Madison as an abducted/missing child, but the Princeton Police Department clarified on social media that she was not abducted.

In a release posted on social media, Princeton police said officers were dispatched around 5 a.m. August 31 to a call about a potential runaway. Madison's family had not been able to locate her and contacted the police.

Princeton police later stated that Madison had been in contact with her parents throughout the day and was believed to be in the Austin area.

Authorities were also looking for a white Dodge Ram truck. Princeton police said they had suspicions that the truck was related to her disappearance and later added that the truck was seen on video possibly picking up the teenager.

Princeton police say they are still investigating the relationship between the owner of the truck and Madison.
