Tanker truck accident on SB 610 West Loop blocks Southwest Freeway exit

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Officials are asking drivers to avoid the area near the 610 West Loop and Richmond due to the release of a hazardous chemical from a truck.
An accident involving a tanker truck on the southbound 610 West Loop is blocking all lanes of the exit ramp to the Southwest Freeway.
The City of Houston is responding to the release. The Houston Fire Department has closed down the Highway 59 exit at the 610 Loop and Richmond in both directions under the 610 Loop.
People are asked to stay away from the area while HAZMAT secures the chemical.
No shelter in place is currently issued.
