Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown brings 6-story water slide to Houston area
FOX 26 (SPRING, Texas) - Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown is bringing a 6-story water slide to the Houston area.
Wet & Wild SplashTown in Spring is being rebranded as Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown. The park will open for the 2019 season on May 4 with a new ride, a Caribbean theme and improvements throughout, Six Flags says.
“We are thrilled to welcome Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown into the Six Flags family of parks,” said Park President Jeffrey Siebert. “Six Flags is making a big investment in the park with the new Wahoo Wave and major updates for a bigger, better, wetter, island-like experience. Hurricane Harbor Splashtown already has the most water rides and slides in the region, and now all Members and Season Pass Holders will have free, unlimited visits to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Over Texas and all Six Flags theme parks across the county. It’s an incredible value that only Six Flags.”
The park will feature the Wahoo Wave, which stands six stories tall, and sends four riders into a "near vertical motions to experience extended hang times and zero g-forces." Riders plunge 30 feet straight down then sweep up at at high speeds across a massive water wall before descending into a pool.
