Simsbrook Drive shooting: 17-year-old killed after attempted carjacking
HOUSTON - An attempted carjacking in southwest Houston left a 17-year-old teenager dead and another teenager hospitalized.
Houston Police Department reports three teen males were hanging out at Townwood Park at 3403 Simsbrook Drive when they were approached by a group of suspects who tried to remove them from their vehicles around 8:40 p.m.
One of the three males got into an argument with one of the suspects, which escalated when the suspect shot at them. A 17-year-old was shot and pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. Police say an 18-year-old was taken to the hospital in a stable condition with a gunshot wound. The first male who got into the argument was not injured.

The suspect left the scene before officers arrived in one of the victim's white 2004 Expedition which was later found nearby.
Houston police say they do not have a description of the suspect at this time.
