Woman run over, killed during robbery at East Harris Co. McDonald's

FOX 26 Reporter Maria Salazar has more on what happened along with Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez's message to the suspect responsible.

A woman has died after she was run over by a suspect who snatched her purse as she walked out of a fast-food restaurant in east Harris County, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block Uvalde Road.

According to Sheriff Gonzalez, the woman, who has been identified as 71-year-old Martha Medina, was exiting the restaurant with her food when someone took her purse.

The suspect allegedly ran over Medina as he fled the scene. The vehicle is described as a 2017 to 2018 black Chevrolet Impala with chrome rims and dark tinted windows. 

Medina was taken to the hospital where she later died. 

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office.
