Seawall Blvd. speed limit decreased to 35 mph in Galveston
GALVESTON, Texas (FOX 26) - After a Galveston City Council vote, the speed limit on the Seawall Boulevard has been decreased to 35 mph between 6th & 61st streets.
Among the reasons for the vote to change the speed was to make the seawall a more pedestrian-friendly road and to improve consistency in speed limits on it.
The Goodman Corporation conducted an independent pedestrian safety study that determined a decrease in speed limit was needed. New and advanced warning signage will be installed along Seawall Boulevard following the vote.
