Robbery suspect's gun discharges, kills him at Houston store

HOUSTON (AP) — Police say an armed man allegedly trying to rob a Houston liquor store has been fatally shot with his own gun during a struggle with a clerk.

Houston police on Wednesday did not immediately release the name of the suspect who was killed.

Investigators say a gunman entered the store Tuesday afternoon and demanded money from the clerk. Police say the suspected vaulted over the counter and began to struggle with the store worker.

The gun went off, killing the suspect. The employee was not hurt.

The incident happened a day after police say two masked men suspected of trying to rob a Houston convenience store were fatally shot by a clerk.
