HOUSTON - An investigation is now underway after a teenage girl was killed in a crash on Monday afternoon in Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, a vehicle lost control in the 8000 block of Harrisburg Boulevard, near where Buffalo Bayou and Brays Bayou meet.

Authorities said three teenagers were in a black BMW 325i traveling at a high rate of speed when the female driver failed to stay in a single lane.
That's when, authorities said the BMW veered off the roadway, drover through the guardrail on a bridge, and went into the bayou below.
FOX 26 has learned one girl, who is believed to be the driver, is 16-year-old Emily Castilleja. She was a sophomore at Milby High School.

Officials said Castilleja did not survive the crash, and her body has been recovered.
Another teenage girl, said to be 17-years-old was rescued by paramedics, and taken to an area hospital.
Police say a teenage boy, said to be 17-years-old, who was riding in the back seat of the vehicle, was able to swim to safety.
A witness on the scene told FOX 26, all three of the students were believed to attend Milby High School in Houston.
A letter was distributed to Milby High School parents on Monday afternoon regarding the crash saying,
"This is an important message for Milby parents and students from Principal Pena. I have sad news to report to you. One of our students died today while off campus. As you can imagine, this is a terribly difficult time for our school community. As such, counselors will be available on campus to provide support to students and staff and answer any questions they might have. They will remain available for as long as they are needed."
