Police chase ends in crash near Texas Medical Center

HOUSTON (FOX 26) - A police chase ended in a crash south of the Medical Center.

Houston police say that around 9:30 Tuesday morning, an officer was performing a patrol stop on a blue Nissan Sentra.

The driver of the car refused to stop and initiated a chase.

The pursuit then ended in a crash at the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and Almeda, closing several lanes.

Police have arrested the suspect. It's unknown at this time why the car was initially being stopped.
