Pastor John Gray talks for the first time about leaving Lakewood Church

He’s become a household name in Houston and around the country, but he’s packing his bags to spread God’s word in another state.

Pastor John Gray has become a national figure. He and his wife Aventer star in their own reality show called “The Book of John Gray” on Oprah’s network. He’s also the main draw to Lakewood Church on Wednesday nights – bible study time.

But Gray’s rising star could not be contained. In December, he announced he was leaving Lakewood to take over his own megachurch “Redemption” in Greenvile, South Carolina.
