The Pasadena Police Department investigates a shooting on S Houston Road.
PASADENA, Texas - Police say a woman fatally shot a man who crashed through a gate outside of a Pasadena business and attacked her when she confronted him.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting shortly after midnight on August 31 in the 1400 block of South Houston Road.
According to police, the incident began when an employee at a laboratory business exited the electric gate, and a man hit her car window with his fist and yelled. Authorities say she did not know or recognize the man.
She was able to leave and close the gate behind her, police say.
According to police, the man then got into his own vehicle and drove through the electric gate, striking several parked vehicles.
Another employee was outside of the business but inside the gated area. Police say she lawfully had a gun and confronted the suspect, who then attacked her.
There was a struggle, police say, and the woman defended herself by shooting the man twice.
The man was taken to the hospital, but he later died.
Authorities say the woman was not injured.
