Huntsville police sergeant shot, injured
A man is dead and a Huntsville sergeant is in the hospital after a shootout at an apartment complex. This happened at The Timbers Apartments off I-45 near the North Freeway Service Roadway. FOX 26's Sherman Desselle reports on the neighbor's concerns over the incident.
HUNTSVILLE, Texas - An officer has been injured in a shooting in Huntsville, police confirm.
Huntsville Police Department says officers responded to reports of a person with a gun at the Timbers Apartments at 141 Interstate 45 around 1:15 p.m.
A man was said to be behaving erratically and brandishing a gun in the parking lot between two buildings, officials report.
He entered an apartment which is where officers say made contact with him.

Huntsville police said gunfire was exchanged and Sergeant Kyle Dockery was shot multiple times.

The suspect was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.
Officer injured during officer-involved shooting in Huntsville
The officer was taken to Conroe Regional Hospital and underwent surgery. According to Huntsville PD, Dockery is out of surgery and in stable condition.
He is a veteran of 17 years with the police department.
