Mother, child rescued after trailer flips in Beasley

A trailer flipped during severe weather in Beasley, and a mother and child had to be rescued, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office says. (EDITOR'S NOTE: This is from an earlier version of this story.)

A family of five, including three small children, were rescued from their mobile home that flipped over several times during severe weather in Beasley, authorities say.

According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, they received a call around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday about the trailer flipping and rolling over with people inside in the 13000 block of Burnett Rd.

Officials found a father, a mother, and three children ages 2, 4, and 7 inside the mobile home.

All five family members were transported by ambulance to Memorial Hermann in the medical center with non-life-threatening injuries. It was later determined that the trailer home rolled over due to a weather event.

The National Weather Service rated the system an EF-1 tornado, leaving behind multiple structures damaged and some injuries. EF1 winds can range from 86 mph to 110 mph.

Another home in the 13000 block of Battle Rd. also sustained damage due to high winds and a possible tornado. No injuries were reported from that home, authorities say.

Fort Bend County and several others were under a severe thunderstorm warning on Tuesday morning, and the National Weather Service said the thunderstorms could produce wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour.

The storms have impacted a large portion of North and Central Texas since Monday. Several tornados were reported in the state.
