Montgomery County homeowners continue fight for compensation after sewage flood

A Spring couple's battle with their water district is nearing an end.

Spring couple's 9-month battle with water district over neighborhood sewage nearing an end

The backstory:

In May 2024, Osreca and Terrance Miller found their home flooded with their neighbors waste.

"Piss, poop, three inches of feces, everything in our home," Terrance said.

"It's traumatizing to us and our children," said Osreca. "We had to come outside, and see tampons in our front yard."

Major repair work was done on the line soon after the sewer flooded the Miller's home.

In a letter from the Miller's insurance company, Montgomery County WCID #1, admitted the cause was due to a county issue.

However, in a letter to the Millers from the district's insurance company, the water district denied any wrongdoing, and denied the claim in its entirety.

In October 2024, FOX 26 attended the water district's board meeting.

"Maybe you all are thinking we will just go away, but we're not," Osreca told the board last fall.

Fast forward to now:

The couple went back to the public meeting for Montgomery County Water Control Improvement District #1, and FOX 26 attended with them.

"We're here to get an update," Osreca told the board on Thursday.

The board's attorney said they were going to make a decision in an executive session.

The Miller's say all they're asking for is $50,000, the amount they say it took to repair their home from the sewage flood.

What's next:

It's not known when the board will announce their decision.
