Missouri City Amber Alert canceled: 15-year-old girl found

The 15-year-old girl at the center of an Amber Alert has been located, Missouri City police say.

The Missouri City Police Department says they were notified on Thursday that Serenity Turner-Douglas walked into a Child Protective Services building in Rosenberg.

Rosenberg police confirmed her identity. The Amber Alert has been canceled.

In an update, the Missouri City Police Department said, "The investigation into Serenity’s whereabouts, and the person(s) responsible for her disappearance and harboring is still active. The Missouri City Police Department is happy Serenity is safe, and will seek to provide Serenity and her family with all available resources."

The backstory:

According to Missouri City police, a reportee stated she was contacted by a Fort Bend Independent School District bus driver advising her that her daughter did not get on the school bus. 

The reportee then contacted Elkins High School, where the child was enrolled to verify the information. 

Fort Bend ISD police checked surveillance video and saw Serenity leaving school in the afternoon hours getting into a silver SUV.

She had last been seen in the 7000 block of Knights Court in Missouri City at 3:34 p.m. on Wednesday.

According to the Amber Alert, authorities were also searching for 31-year-old Megan LeCour in connection with Serenity's disappearance. LeCour is described as a Black female, 5'3" tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
