MCKINNEY (FOX 26) - Everything is bigger in Texas especially when it involves football.
On Saturday, voters in McKinney, Texas approved the $220 million bond that will put $50.3 million toward the construction of a 12,000-seat high school football stadium to be used by the entire school district. The remaining $12.5 million will come from a 2000 bond vote, according to USA Today.
The $62.8M stadium will be the costliest in the state after fetching a bigger price tag than the $60M,18,000-seat stadium in Allen, and the $62.5M that Katy is spending for its stadium scheduled to open next year.
