HOUSTON (FOX 26) - Plate after plate, folks lined up outside of Gallery Furniture for their Thanksgiving meal.
"We didn't feel like cooking and it was such a beautiful day you couldn't stay inside," said Susan Seals.
Houston's own Mattress Mack opened up his property off I-45 to everyone that needed a place to gather for the holiday, including some brought in on Metro busses and some affected by Harvey.
Like members of Galillee Missionary Baptist Church in Brazoria that flooded over the summer.
"God has blessed him a lot so he can be a blessing to other people," says Suzzane Njuguna.
"Many of the evacuees are here today and a lot of other people just came here to share fellowship and share a meal. It was a glorious day," says Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale, owner of Gallery Furniture.
Many were not just grateful for a place to go, but for the man and the company that has done so much for the city of Houston.
"I just want to say I am so blessed to be a part of this feast," says Suzzane Njuguna.
"I appreciate it 100 percent," says Susan Seals.
What is Mattress Mack thankful for?
"I'm thankful for my God, I'm thankful for my family, my wonderful children, grandchildren. I'm thankful for our great employees, our customers and I'm thankful for the great state of Texas and the wonderful people that live here," says Jim McIngvale.
