HOUSTON - A body was recovered Friday morning amid a search for a man who went missing this week after jumping in to Brays Bayou to save two children, officials say.
The man found dead has not been identified, but police say his description is similar to that of the missing man. The medical examiner will identify man whose body was recovered.

Authorities say Houston Fire Department and Houston Police Department dive teams recovered the body under a bridge near Texas Spur 5 and Wheeler Road.
Teams had been searching the bayou for days after a man went missing Wednesday night near MacGregor and the South Freeway.

Police say two 12-year-olds had slipped into the water, and two men went in to help them. One of the men and the two children made it out of the water, but the other man did not, officials say.
Police say the missing man’s family has been notified and was at the scene where the body was recovered Friday morning.
