Lockwood Drive shooting: Wife killed while out with husband in northeast Houston

Houston police are searching for two suspects wanted for their alleged involvement in the murder of a woman who was out with her husband on Friday.

Around 5:45 p.m. on Friday, officers were called to a store at 4718 Lockwood Drive about a shooting and found a woman unresponsive with at least one gunshot wound in the front seat. She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, police say.

According to the Houston Police Department, the woman and her husband drove to the store and an argument broke out while they were there. When the husband went inside the store, an employee asked him to leave.

The man got back into the vehicle with his wife and two other family members in the back seat. As they began to exit the parking lot, an unknown man shot into the vehicle, hitting the woman.

Police say the husband exited the vehicle and ran from the scene and a second male suspect fired shots at him, but he was not injured. The two suspects left the scene.

The two family members in the back seat were unharmed, police said.
