Two trustees discuss state investigation into Houston ISD
HOUSTON (FOX 26) — The Texas Education Agency has launched a special accreditation investigation into the Houston Independent School District.
It appears the district's combative and racially-divided elected leadership is under scrutiny after multiple complaints that some trustees violated the Texas Open Meetings Act. In recent weeks, Texas Governor Greg Abbott called for a state takeover of Houston ISD after calling its leadership a disaster.
Former Houston ISD Board of Trustees president Rhonda Skillern-Jones and trustee Jolanda Jones discuss the investigation with Isiah Carey.
