A victim of Hurricane Harvey, looking forward to moving back into her house suffered another big blow, when thieves took everything that was just recently replaced.

After telling Linda Wade's tragic story on FOX 26, Exclusive Furniture decided to step up and furnish her home.

Wade's neighborhood was hit hard by Harvey. When you drive through the Bear Creek area now, you see house after house that’s still sitting empty.

“It’s like a ghost town here,” says Wade.

Only two residents on her street have moved back into their homes since Hurricane Harvey left the area under water. Wade was hopeful she too would soon be back home.

Then she walked into her house to see what workers had accomplished, and found everything was gone. Her dining room set, refrigerator, bedroom furniture, washer and dryer, and more.

She says the list of what wasn’t taken is actually shorter than what was.

"Everything I had delivered so far they took," Wade says,

Wade and her son who’s quadriplegic have lived in the house for 18 years.

She didn't know when they would move back in after this set back, but thanks to Sam Zavary, the CEO of Exclusive Furniture, and his team she may soon be back on schedule.

They gave her a few items, but didn't fill the house in case the thieves try to strike again.

Instead, Exclusive gave her a gift card to the store, cash to use toward the appliances, and four tickets to see the Astros.

Hopefully, Wade feels a little sense of peace after being a victim twice.
