Houston woman charged following 16-year-old girl's death earlier this year
HOUSTON - A Houston woman has been charged following the death of a 16-year-old girl earlier this year.
Houston police say Tracy Gonzales, 48, is charged with injury to a disabled person with serious bodily injury.

According to police, Nayeli Perez, 16, was found unresponsive in her bedroom in the 700 block of East 32nd Street on March 25. Paramedics pronounced her deceased. Police say she had suffered unknown injuries.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences ruled her death a homicide. According to the agency, Perez’s cause of death was determined to be "complications of dehydration, malnutrition, and blunt and sharp force injuries."
Police say Gonzalez acted as Perez’s caretaker. She was arrested on Dec. 30 and charged in the case.
