Houston suspect Armando Ruiz Diaz charged with murder in Almeda Genoa shooting

An arrest has been made in the death of a man who was shot in his vehicle in Houston earlier this month.

Armando Ruiz Diaz, 47, has been charged with murder. He’s accused in the death of 45-year-old Edward Jimenez.

According to police, Jimenez went to a gas station in the 11200 block of Almeda Genoa Road around 8:55 a.m. Dec. 5 and told an employee that he had been shot.

He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the investigation revealed that Jimenez had been shot while in his vehicle, which had been struck by gunfire.

Investigators later identified Ruiz Diaz as a suspect, and he was arrested on Friday.
