Officers arrived and found two males dead at the scene.

According to HPD, officers spoke with a business owner who said he had just come from the bank and walked into the business when he was hit in the head.

"As he walked inside, he was hit on the back of the head by an unknown object. When he turned around, he saw two masked men who were wearing gloves. He immediately began to discharge a firearm," said HPD Asst. Chief Chandra Hatcher.

Police say an employee heard the commotion, saw what was happening and also started shooting.

Two of the suspects were killed. Police say a third suspect was in a vehicle and left the scene. Police are searching for the black, newer model Lincoln Navigator with license plates RTS3919.

While the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, police say they don’t think the incident was random and did have a specific target.

"We do believe that it had something to do with him leaving the bank and maybe having some cash on him, or believed to have some cash on him," Asst. Chief Hatcher said.

Anyone with information on the third suspect or the wanted vehicle is asked to call HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
