FOX 26 spoke with E'minie's mother on Wednesday. She said she's had trouble thinking straight and not trying to worry about a worst-case scenario for her child.
‘I haven’t eaten anything. I haven't been able to sleep. It's a lot," said Shannon Williams, E'minie's mother.
Williams said the last time she saw her 12-year-old daughter was inside their home on the 7700 block of Waterchase Drive on the night of February 22.
"She was in her room dancing with her little brother. Just dancing. She had cooked some fries," Williams said.
Later that night, while checking on her sleeping children, Williams says E'minie wasn't in her bed.
"I went to her room and she wasn't there," Williams said.
Williams says the family began the search and called police.
"They told me I have to wait 24 hours. So I called the next morning, and they told me I had to wait 24 hours," Williams said.
FOX 26 asked, "What are you thinking, being told that you have to wait?"
"What is wrong with y'all? She's 12!" Williams said.
Authorities said E'minie was last seen on surveillance video leaving in a dark-colored 4-door Dodge pickup truck that night.
Police have not confirmed with FOX 26 why the Amber Alert was issued days later, but did say Houston FBI agents are assisting in her search.

Wiliams says she's still waiting on updates from investigators, and pleading with the public to help find her child.
"Please bring my baby home. If you guys see her, know anything, please call somebody. I need my baby home. She's only 12. Please."
Hughes is described as a Black female, 4’6" tall, 100 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a white crop top and pink joggers.
