Houston man shot while trying to stop robbery suspects on Spenwick
HOUSTON - A man was shot in the leg while trying to stop a group of robbery suspects, Houston police say.
The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. Friday at an apartment complex in the 2000 block of Spenwick.

A woman told police that she was pulling into her complex when she was approached by several armed males, who tried to rob her of her vehicle. Police say the woman and the suspects ended up exchanging gunfire.
The group of suspects attempted to flee, but they got trapped by the gate, police say.
According to police, a man came out and tried to stop the suspects, who then shot at him. He was struck in the leg.

The wounded man was taken to the hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.
According to police, the suspects ended up climbing the fence and fled on foot. There is no description of the suspects at this time.
The robbery and the shooting remain under investigation.
