Houston may not have the picturesque scenery that other Texan cities boast to make their area more photogenic, but Bayou City small businesses are creating Instagrammable spots of their own.

There is an abundance of creativity and artistic talent in the area, that you don't have to travel far to find a picture-perfect backdrop.

Café Bustelo is one place dominating the social media scene right now. It's a pop-up shop in the Montrose district serving authentic Latin coffee and pastries, as well as a vibrant atmosphere. It began over 90 years ago in New York, where many Cubans wanted traditional coffee to remind them of home.

"We're Colombian," said one coffee lover. "It takes like real coffee!"

The pop-up is located at 3615 Montrose Blvd., and will be around until May 25 daily from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Another photogenic spot getting lots of attention is a new mural that popped up of The Queen of Tejano Music, Selena Quintanilla, by artist @soder_texas on Instagram. It's located at Shepherd and Center, and has been the focus of many local photographers.

"Selena is an icon for me, I grew up listening to her," said one local.

Lastly, make sure your phones are charged, because Present Company has been trending since they opened their doors.

"I love it," said one diner. "The decor is so cool, it feels like a Barbie Dreamhouse!"

More and more restaurants are catering to be as visually appetizing as their menus.

Many local designers and artists are behind the beautification of the city, responsible for the many new murals and Instagram hot spots we see today.
