HOUSTON - An investigation is now underway after a 2-alarm apartment fire in Houston on Thursday evening.
According to the Houston Fire Department, the fire sparked up on the 11700 block of Westheimer.
The Houston Fire Department said firefighters arrived to find a fire coming from the second story.
"I look out my window and all I see is just smoke coming from my building," said Victoria Nash, on of the residents in the apartment.
Officials said they had a little bit of an issue finding a water supply, but were able to get the fire put out.
"I went and grabbed some clothes to put on, and I grabbed my dog and I just left," said Nash. "Having to find a place to live in the middle of the night, that was not fun."

All residents were said to have gotten out OK. However, one firefighter was taken to the hospital to be checked out. The firefighter's condition wasn't provided, but will be OK.
No residents were injured in the fire.
"We can’t even see if there’s anything that’s salvageable. By the time they probably let us in, everything will be ruined from water damage," said Nash.
Officials said 12 units were damaged in the fire, and the Red Cross was called in to meet with residents.

"It was so terrible to watch. Like all of our stuff, we couldn’t do anything at all. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone cause now I have to start all over," said Nash.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but residents believe it started because of a malfunctioning dryer.
"She said that she had put in multiple maintenance requests to have her dryer serviced, and they hadn’t made it yet. And by the time she used it, it blew up, and it caught very fast, like very fast," said LA Honore, another resident.
