HOUSTON - Charges have recently been filed nearly three years after an unreported gruesome murder.
William Satterfield was found shot in the skull, covered in concrete mix with a 6-inch piece of wood lodged in the back of his throat in March 2021.

Satterfield's mother, Tina Thomas, says he borrowed her car, but didn't return on time in the morning.
"That morning he wasn't there and that's when I worried because he would always show up."
Since she had no car, she sent her daughter, Tracina, to look for Satterfield. She ended up spotting her mom's car outside an Acres Home property.
Tracina says near the back of the property, she found her brother's body.
Thomas and other family members gathered at the scene, not knowing the accused killer was there with them.
"It was horrible. It's something I think about all the time and for someone to take my precious son and do him that way was just terrible," said Thomas.

DNA evidence linked Wallick Thompson to the murder in February 2022. The records say samples were pulled from the victim's wallet, a beer can, and a broken wooden stick on the scene - noting that a 6-inch piece of wood was lodged in the victim's throat.
The evidence "strongly supporting" that Thompson was a contributor. But still, no charges were filed.
In November 2023, more DNA evidence came through, showing that samples from the victim's hands and vehicle "strongly supported" DNA samples from Thompson.
Charges were finally filed shortly after, nearly three years after the killing.
Court records show Wallick was arrested multiple times since allegedly committing the murder, but wasn't held since charges weren't filed.
Court records also say that Thompson can be seen on body camera at the scene while police were investigating, and Thomas says she remembers seeing Wallick there.
"For him to sit there and watch us grieve, what kind of person could do that? He sat there and watched it all."
Court records say an officer came out to the scene two separate times. The first time was responding to a call to tow a vehicle, Thomas' vehicle, according to Satterfield's family.
The court document describes what is seen on the officer's body camera. It says for the first call, the video shows inside the vehicle where a white powdery substance can be seen. Then, on the video, the officer can see Thompson who has the same powder substance on his hand.
The document says that Thompson tells the officer "someone is lying on the ground," but the officer didn't respond, cleared the call and left.
The document says the officer returned 24 minutes later and saw Thompson again.

"I don't want him to ever see daylight, I want him to be in jail forever, if not worse," said Thomas.
Satterfield's family is frustrated the DNA evidence took so long to process and want to see Thompson behind bars.
