Houston crime: Dog in stable condition after getting shot

One dog is in stable condition after being found with multiple open wounds last week in northwest Houston

What we know:

The Houston SPCA said they rescued a three-year-old dog near the 3500 block of East TC Jester in northwest Houston after she was shot on January 17. 

Officials said the Houston SPCA's animal ambulance found the Husky mix bleeding with multiple open wounds. 

SPCA officials stated a single bullet pierced her chest and exited her left side before striking her left front limb.

Thankfully, SPCA officials said, the dog is in stable condition and is receiving veterinary care at the Houston SPCA hospital. 

Houston SPCA said the Houston Police Department is investigating the incident. 

No other details have been released by authorities.
