Houston hit-and-run crash on Westpark Drive near Fondren Road

A woman has died after a hit-and-run crash in southwest Houston, police say.

The crash was reported on Westpark Drive near Fondren Road around 6:45 a.m. Friday. However, it's not known when the crash actually occurred.

Police say the call initially came in as a report of a person, possibly a child, found unresponsive in the street. Authorities learned the victim was a woman in her 30s.

According to police, a vehicle struck the woman who was believed to be jogging on the right shoulder, and the driver then fled the scene.

There’s no description of the vehicle involved in the crash at this time.
